During one of the longest and most intense electrical storms seen in the area in decades, a violent summer monsoon storm cell sat for hours over the Vermillion Cliffs of the Paria Plateau before it grew even greater in strength and moved north across Paria Canyon where two simultaneous strikes of lightning reach out to the ground on each side of the canyon.
