My obsession with moss draped vine maples hit a crescendo this past weekend while out shooting with Jeremy Cram, Scott Miller, Paul Bowman, and Brian “Happy Meal” Kibbons. We explored a hard to reach little corner of the Gorge and walked a cold creek for better part of three hours before I noticed this grove of vine maples. That’s when a bit of serendipity struck as the sun poked through mostly cloudy skies for a few brief minutes, allowing met to frame these vine maples around a huge sun star. I’ve shot the Gorge a lot over the past several years and I continue to enjoy creating images of creeks and falls. However, what has been really exciting me recently is shooting these more lush, intimate forest scenes. Hope you all enjoy this one!
