This photograph comes from the village of Bogoro, near the border with Uganda. It takes three hours of travel over dirt roads from the nearest city - Bunia - to reach this place.
In 2003, the village was the site of clashes between two rival militias. This school had served as the temporary headquarters of Thomas Lubanga, who was recently convicted of war crimes by the International Criminal Court in the Hague.
One of the reason to come here was to actually meet the people who experienced these events and see where they happened. We sat under a tree with the people here and heard their stories and views on justice.
