This is the Brandenburg gate which is the former city gate and one of the biggest symbol in Berlin, it was built from 1789 and completed in 1791 and was originally part of the Berlin wall serving as an entrance to the city. If you notice you can see that the central columns are wider apart than the outside ones, only the king could walk through this section.
