this is part 1 of a 2 part series. part 2 is in the works. this is the light. still to come is the dark. ive had WAY too many motorcycle related ideas lately... so ill slowly be churning through them. this is the 1st to be completed.
this was a bit of an experiment as far as bright lighting. i wanted to mimic using some REALY large softboxes... like 7'. i tried bedsheets and realy large bounch cards. i ended up with lots of lights, and lots of bounce surfaces to try and get a pretty diffused look to the light when shot, then painted in a bit more form to the light once i decided on a sun direction.
the bg is an assemblage of stock images. i wanted a salt flats look but didnt feel like taking a very long trip to shoot that bg myself. internet to the rescue!
thanks to Janey Brown for posing for me, and thanks to Riders Choice in Etobicoke for lending me the jacket, gloves, and helmet for a few hours! they literally let me walk out with probably $2000 worth of gear with no collateral or anything! very nice guys there.
