Sanghyang Jaran dance is one of the unique and sacred dances. Danced by two men riding a rocking horse made of coconut leaf midrib and accompanied by singing and tetabuhan.

Then the two dancers will be possessed by spirits and keep dancing to follow the singing. Coconut fiber that has been prepared were put at the floor and then set on fire and with bare feet, the two dancers stepped into the burning coconut fiber continuously until the fire goes out.

At the end of the dance, dancers being awakened by tirtha (holy water), sprinkled from a spiritual leader.

At old times, Sanghyang Jaran dance performed when outbreaks of disease or other events occurred among the community. But currently Jaran Trance dance can be enjoyed almost every day as an entertainment to tourists.
