The western shores of the Bruce Peninsula are generally peaceful and quiet during the hours of 11:00 p.m. - 3:00 a.m. (despite the fact that they face the open waters of Lake Huron)

In order to reach this location, a 15 minute drive down a lonely dirt road is required - then a 3 minute hike through the woods - and finally, a trek across the lunar-like landscape of strange stone till one meets the waters edge.

On this particular night, the sky was pitch black, the air was still, and the rippling of the waves on the rocks was barely audible.

I sat on the stones for nearly 3 hours, deciding what shot I wanted, attempting different compositions, and watching the light show.
