This was my 8th year photographing this pair of loons. It is truly a privilege to be able to witness unadulterated wildlife behavior up close and personal. The adults feel so safe in our presence that they often leave the newborn chicks with us while disputing territory, feeding for themselves, etc. We accept the baby-sitting duties with open arms....and a boat load of camera gear ;~)
