This image was taken when the baby black skimmers were just a couple of days old. They are amazing little creatures and are up and about a few hours after birth. the survival of these little ones is very difficult and some are even killed by their own parents. sometimes it is the male of another couple that will kill a baby and of course the crows and the seagulls are a constant danger to them,. You quickly grow to love them and it would be wonderful if it possible to stay and see them grow up but unfortunately I had to say good bye. It was an awesome experience and one I will not forget.
