I was told by a friend that Columbia Circle would be a good place to check out. When i got there i knew there was definitely some potential, but i really wanted to get something more than just a standard on the ground, eye level shot. I saw what looked like a balcony on the upper floors of the Lincoln Center and went inside. It turns out there was no balcony, only a big glass window full of scratches and glaring reflections from the lights of the square. I set up my tripod and was almost immediately approached by security, telling me that i couldn’t use a tripod ( these rules really piss me off) I put my jacket on top of my backpack and balanced the camera on it. I strapped on the 20mm and put up on the glass window. I then took one of my shirts and put it over my head and the camera, taking away the lens flare. I set my camera at around 15 sec, f/10 at 100 iso and shot about 20 photos (the camera kept shaking so i had to repeat each shot a few times). I quickly left after that with 30 minutes to go before my bus left.
