I was Occupy DC's main photographer from early October to February when the camp was finally evicted, one of the last major camps to be so. Back in October, Occupy was riding on a high tide.

Well, Late one night a couple of protesters decided to place a "Occupy Banner" on top of the statue that was the parks namesake, General McPherson. It happened around 2/3am, and it took the group of protesters about 20 seconds to climb the statue and place the banner on top. It would be awhile before park police would come to take it down, along with a Guy Fawkes mask that one of the other protesters placed on McPherson's face.
