Sadly one of the stilt houses I shoot a couple of weeks ago, burned off two nights ago. The crew of a shrimp boat reported the fire, but it took too much time until the fire service were on site. Then it was low tide...no water within 2 kilometers on the beach...seriously :P
It will take some time until the proceeding on the granting of permission to rebuild will be given.
The image I made you can find here: www.flickr.com/photos/michellewhy/6929838790/in/photostream/
And a report with some picture from the fire (in german language) can be found here: www.ndr.de/regional/schleswig-holstein/brand1041.html
So here is the good news: There are still 14 houses left to shoot ;) One of them I show you today. It is the Beach Café and Restaurant Silbermöwe (Silvergull), the site of the film "Gegen den Wind" or "Die Strandclique", rather known by germans only.
Unfortunately there was a car (silver as well) on the left side of the building hiding a part of the stilt house while shooting. Inbetween one of a few exposures I did, the owner of the restaurant came out, grabbed his car and disappeared for quite some time. I took my chance and exposed again without the car, but then the sky didn´t work well enough. So at the end I decided to take the image where the car was exposed for about half the time of a total of 5 Minutes and 27 Seconds, because the sky came out quite nicely. Decided to leave the ghost of the car untouched.
