The place is 15 minutes south of Page, AZ and is relatively easily accessible. The challenge is to find a good spot, and to not fall down the 1200 feet high cliffs while enjoying the picture taking :).
The stormy clouds were approaching and the sun hid behind them without making a big splash of colors at first. So, I prayed for some color to appear afterwards. Sure enough, 10 minutes after it went down the warm magenta and red colors started to appear right underneath the clouds, and soon the sky was filled with warm hues. I took advantage of it and snapped a few bracketed exposures for blending in later. I also used the GNDs to balance the contrast.
I know I may have a bit too much magenta here, but the saturation is intentional.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy it, and plan a trip to Southern Utah/Northern Arizona when you can – it is WORTH it!
