I am making a decision between Panasonic LX7 and Fuji X10 as a travel camera for swiss trip (well, X20 is out there soon, but i guess the open price is too expensive for me).

After saw your photos taken by X10, I would say this little camera has exceptional performance!! (of course, with your expert skills).

Is X10 good for taking photo of people with a view?

Any concerns that I need to know before?

Thank you very much :)

PS. I have Pentax K200D with 18-55 kit lens. but it is too heavy to carry for swiss trip since we are backpacking

Ian, Love what you have done with this. just got my X10 for Christmas so still taking some time to get to know it, but I have been impressed with what it can do so far.

Thank you. It is a great little 'take anywhere' camera, and it can help produce great results. The more you use it the more you'll find what you can and can't do with it..... Have fun ;-)

Thank you for your comment... and WOW what a question...!
Maybe wait a little longer, logically there should be a new Fuji out soon. That'll either be a better camera at the same price, or it'll drop the price of the X10 / X100.
It is a fun camera to use, with lots of control and (with some effort) good results.
Focus can be a little hit and miss / slow.....

Wonderful picture ! Voted !

How did you manage to get the ND filter on the X10, the lens hood has holes which let the light go through ?

Thanks for your comments. Yer you can get light leak bouncing around inside behind the ND filter... cupped hands, black tape over the holes, a big hair-band... all work well ;-)

Thanks for your comment. It was a Hama 52mm Vario Neutral-Density Filter ND2-400 from WEX.
It's a great little camera, ideal for travel. I answered the same question here on my Flickr page:

Hope that helps..... it'll be interesting what the next Fuji X camera will be like ;-)
