The Bayon lies in the centre of Angkor Thom , and nothing can prepare you for what is in wait.
On approaching the temple you see this muddle of stones in all directions , and the crumbling decay around , and then you start to see it , the face start to appear.
As you enter and climb nothing can describe the multitude of serene and massive stone faces on the many towers which jut out from the upper terrace and cluster around its central peak.
