Indeed, this is exactly what it looked like in person, but none of the 100 or so shots I took had a good balance between the blue, yellow and orange. Thankfully I was bracketing the whole time and was able to squeeze out a great HDR.

indeed quite nice. I think HDR is just a tool to get a nice exposure, which cannot be caught within camera, so no need to defend HDR pictures. Photos are art, and not a report. I have never been to Oregon, but it looks like a nice place to visit and to live. Greetings, Frank.

Thanks! A little old, but I'm in the process of moving my images over from Flickr. Glad you appreciated it, I love this image... I will admit it is an HDR composed of three exposures, but I tried to keep the "HDR" look as subtle as possible.
