The San Giuliano Urban Park, in Mestre (Venice), rises above a big area where once there was a dirty landfill of industrial wastes. Thus, it was (and, partly, it is) a highly polluted area. After its construction and public opening, occurred in 2004, this part of lagoon waterfront allows you to see wonderfully a big slice of north lagoon. In the summer of 2011, I tried to deal with the “sunrise in Venice” theme, but for some reasons I didn't want to go up to Venice, therefore I opted for this strategic mainland lookout. From this point you can spot the sunrise (East), the north lagoon and even Venice at the same time. I was quite lucky because some clouds ran trought the sky, bending to the East, filling the top of the frame with their soft shapes and increasing the depht of field of this shot. During that morning I wasn't alone, but a special assistant helped me: a huge rat, which was squeaking furiously against me such obscenities...
