Taken in the early winter morning near my guesthouse before starting my last day trip in Iceland. Weather forecast for that day was not kind of luck so I didn't expect any good chance for the fantastic light but it did. It was only short period of sunlight in that day before it became cloudy and rain.
It is situated in the centre of Reykjavík, it is one of the city's best-known landmarks and is visible throughout the city. It is 74.5 metres (244 ft) height. The church is also used as an observation tower. It took incredibly long to build it (38 years!), construction took time from 1945 to 1986.
For strange appearance, it was designed to be resemble the basalt rock coloumns of Iceland’s landscape, as you can see in my previous photo upload.(http://500px.com/photo/9213279)
