This is the peak of Mt. Sneffels, elevation 14,157 feet (4,315 meters). Can you spot my brother Jeff on his way up? It was extremely windy above 14,000 feet and there is no place to hide from the wind up there. I brought my tripod but it wasn't very effective against the wind. For anyone looking to tackle some of Colorado's 14ers, I do not recommend this one. As you can see, the trail is non-existant and the boulder field is quite rough. My footing washed out from beneath me on several occasions, sending boulders flying down the mountain beneath me. I was lucky to keep my balance each time but I shudder when thinking about it. Jeff says there are much easier 14ers, so we'll have to try one of those next time!
