One week, I was out of town on business and had planned on shooting some wildlife images on my way driving home. Well, the weather system in the area had other plans, as seemingly the heavens opened up with ominous clouds, torrential downpours, and lightening all around me. Every so often, there would be a lull in the storm action. Determined to not let the day be a total bust, I would stop along the way and look for something ... anything ... to shoot. As luck would have it, this very beautiful and patient crested caracara sat on a nearby fence post, doing the same - looking for something ... anything ... to eat. So, as fate would have it, we were in the same place, same time, and the opportunity to shoot this amazing bird, from a relatively close range, was too good to pass up.
Did it make my day? You bet it did!
