I have enjoyed photography since I was 8 years old. Ansel Adams was an early influence along with Edward Weston, Jay Meisel and Pete Turner. I learned as much as I could by studying these photographers and reading everything I could get my hands on about the art and technical aspects of photography. I later completed a coarse in Professional Photography at the New York Institute of Photography.
In today's world of digital photography it is so much easier to learn all aspects of photography than it was in the 60's and 70's when I was trying to learn this craft. I wouldn't want to go back to the days of film and a darkroom for anything, but I wouldn't take anything for the experience of learning to shoot film and developing and printing both black and white and color prints either.
One of my greatest joys today is watching my oldest son (in the photo with me) follow in my footsteps and share the love we have for this art form that is photography.
I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do in making and sharing them.
