Some years back a friend asked me what I would do if given some time to myself. The answer was simple, "Go and find people!". Anyone who has spent time with me knows that I am passionate about people, and am devoted to helping others with my life. For me a relaxing afternoon would involve sitting around with friends drinking tea, or going out to take photos. Cooking is also an activity that I find relaxing, but being a new parent, meals tend to get cooked in a rather rushed fashion these days. Along with cooking is another favorite activity, eating! Many of my Asian friends like to tease me by asking how many months pregnant I am, which is undoubtedly related to my appreciation for yummy food! ;-) Some of my personal favorites are Vietnamese lotus salad, Chinese chicken with peanuts and Indian paneer masala. As far as other interests go, well, I really enjoy learning new languages. Over the years I have studied Spanish, Hindi, Mandarin Chinese and Vietnamese. I presently live in Nanning, China. My Vietnamese language skills are still stronger than my Mandarin Chinese ones, but I'm working hard to improve.
