My love of photography started with a Grade 10 Graphic Arts class back in 1978. My first "real" camera was a Minolta XD-11 that I bought new in 1983. Black body with leatherette trim. I still have it today. That camera did very good by me until the dawning of the digital age when I finally relented and purchased a Canon 350D. $1200 was about 3 times the price of my trusty XD-11, but that's the price of progress and I'm sure I made almost all of it back on saved film and developing costs. I've just recently "upgraded" to a Canon 600D with Magic Lantern and my passion for photography has never been higher.
I am interested in learning all aspects and types of photography. My first loves are landscapes and macros. I also enjoy capturing wildlife and sports. The taking of the picture is only half the enjoyment for me though as I love to sit in front of my screen and "make" a picture.
I love looking at other people's pictures. This site has drawn me in and I hope I'm able to contribute something of value to it in return.
