My name is Michel van Rossum, Age 23 and currently living in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. I have had many passions in my life, but lately it all seems to evolve around two things: Dance Music & Photography.
Dance Music has always been on my mind since I was little. Wether it was listening to the swinging house classics of the late 90′s, or enjoying the uplifting melodies of the first editions of Sensation. But the one dance genre that stands out for me the most is Trance. Since the first record that I’ve heard on the radio many years back I have been hooked.
In 2008 I discovered something else that I would quickly grow to love: Dance Events. I started visiting hardstyle and trance events mainly in Holland and Belgium, and it just never seemed to get old. The people I’ve met over there were a reason for me to keep going, and even some close friendships evolved from it.
But in 2009 I brought a digital camera to a party for the first time and everything came together. I had no idea I loved photography so much untill I did my first photoshoot on Trance Nation for Dancegids.nl. From that moment it is all I have been doing… visiting dance parties, improving my photography, getting new gear and expanding my horizon. It is great being able to do something that you love! And there have been many memorable moments since the start back in ’09.
Over the years I got the opportunity to photography for different websites, organisations and to meet some of my personal dj heroes. Lately I’ve also gained a big interest in High Dynamic Range Photography and I plan on improving that in the future.
