My name is Richard Simko. I was born behind “Iron Curtain” in Czechoslovakia (now Slovakia) in 1971. I studied IT and now I earn my life hood as digital artist. I discovered my passion for photography quite late in 2000 when I bought my first SLR camera for trip to Australia. I realized there is more to photography than ordinary snaps. Since then my photographic gear is always with me on travels. I enjoy documenting life, people and places as I see them through my lens. Although I am amateur I put lot of time and resources to make the photos look good. I always enjoyed documentary style of photographers like Steve McCurry or James Nachtwey and would like my photographs to have similar impact however I certainly don’t want to copy their style.
