Check out the difference photoshop can make! I just watched a tutorial on YouTube by Sara Keisling called "Skin Retouching Photoshop Tutorial". Great information in this video...

I also watched a video called "Photoshop Tutorial- Whitening the Eyes", by rajerm... also a great tutorial...

I whitened the eyes in my photo using rajerm's video... and everything else I did to the photo I did from watching Sara's video.

Lost Chance

So living in the city with no car makes it difficult to go out and take pictures of the beautiful country that I have all around me here in Oregon... I am pretty much limited to downtown Portland. And I am kicking myself in the butt right now because I got a text from my Dad at 7 this morning asking if I wanted him to take me out to his friends place near Flying M Ranch- where he has old barns, antique equipment, and an outstanding river... well, I didn't wake up until 11am... and I was ready to hop out of bed and get to it (even though I still felt like sleeping because I usually stay up until the wee hours of the morning), but he said we should wait for another time because it was too late to do everything.... since he also wanted (and I wanted) to go to the beach afterwards... which I have been waiting for the chance to go to the beach to take sunset pictures! Headshots

So today I just got a speedlight in the mail and I got right to practicing with it! I have been studying how to do portrait photography and headshots obsessively for the past few days... and couldn't wait to try out the speedlight! The only thing is that I am waiting for a stand for my umbrella and a wireless remote to get here so I can learn how to take pictures of people/faces with the speedlight off the camera. It was a lot of fun trying it out today... it was a little difficult to get shots of myself using the self timer though, because I had a hard time focusing the camera and getting in the shot how I wanted... but I think they turned out all right. Check out the shots... and let me know what you think?! A lot of them I wish that I had more lights... but that will happen eventually.

I am planning on going out to my parents house next week, to Albany, Oregon... where there is beautiful country and scenery out there where I am stoked to get some shots. I also can't wait to try an ...
