Nathan Goes Swimming...

Published March 20th, 2012

Nathan went for a little swimming lesson this afternoon. Jaxx swim school here in Fish Hoek. Nathan is my little water baby, he absolutely loves water, any chance to get himself all wet. I took the D70 and the 50mm lens, although I'm having some focus issues with it. Not sure if it's the camera or the lens.

Learning to swim

Nathan does the cutest thing when he pops out of the water, huffs and puffs and blows water everywhere.

Swimming lenghts

Using a kicker board Nathan gets to swim lengths. He pops up to breath every 3 seconds :)

Paddle

Jaxx gets Nathan to cuddle the board, and float on his back while he kicks. His head kept plopping under water so she had to help him.

Kicking

To practice kicking, he holds a little noodle, and has to kick his way to the other side.

One long breath

Nathan just about manages to swim the width of the pool with one breath.

All smiles

He's always having a laugh, and really enjoys his swimming.

Keep the head down

Jaxx gets him to keep his head down, rather than looking ahead like a 'crocodile'.

Doggy Paddle

To practice doggy paddle, he has to swim without his legs, only using his arms to paddle across the pool.

Practice makes perfect

Showing Jaxx how he's going to doggy paddle.

Froggy

The concept of diving is a little lost on Nathan. Froggy just is just way more fun.

5

I forgot to breathe

After his little froggy jump, he comes up and announces he forgot to breathe before he jumped.

4

High Jump

He gets to jump as high as he can over the noodle. Love the little hands.

4

Diving

It's easier to practice diving when forced to do it through a noodle.

5

Pin Drop

He gets to do a pin drop through the centre of the noodle.
