Sónia Guerreiro was born in 1979 in Lisbon, Portugal. Photography has always been one of her main interests, to which art form she has been most dedicated during the last years. For her, photography is “a timeless representation of her state of mind”. It is, simply, “a way of being“. She prefers spontaneous photography and particularly Black and White as a way of record spaces and people in a timeless way. Besides her fine art photography project, Instantes by Sónia Guerreiro, the artist also develops one-to-one workshops and she is now developing other new projects. Her works have been recognized both nationally and internationally, having been nominated for the Photography Masters Cup – International Color Awards and the Black and White Spider Awards. Along with several important remarks in magazines and books of the speciality, she already held several individual and collective exhibitions.
