born in 1976 learned the traditional craft of photography in the family business, which was founded by his grandfather in the heart of Germany‘s Vulkaneifel. In 1999 he began studying photography at the University of Applied Sciences in Bielefeld and completed his degree in 2004. He lived in Bielefeld for 12 years and traveled the world, working on various photo and film projects. His works were published as coffee-table books, seen in international magazines and shown in many exhibitions. For three years, he was a teacher for photography at the University of Applied Sciences in Trier. He works as a dedicated artist in the project „Kultur und Schule“ of the country of North Rhine-Westphalia with young adults, was junior member of the well known photographers society BFF and works as an elected member on the German board of FREELENS. In the last years, Sven Nieder has taken a special interest in Greenland and has covered the effects of climate change through pictures. Sven Nieder works worldwide as a freelance photographer, mainly on books, reportages and art concepts.
