I grew up in Dutton, Michigan and now live in Hudsonville, Michigan. That makes me "small town" through and through, but I saw the world with the US Navy from 1968 through 1974. I have always taken pictures, but took a big step five years ago by entering juried art shows in West Michigan. I appreciate what the rest of the USA and world have to offer, but my theme is always Michigan. My subjects are often the natural environment. I love to put my canoe in the water and paddle down a quiet stream. Old things of Michigan also catch my eye. That often means I'll be looking for barns, lighthouses, and other structures that show something of the passage of time.
By-the-way, all of the pictures I put up here initially are being printed on metal in a way that allows some metal to show through, so the nature of the pictures is a little different than what has been my norm. These are aimed at my entry in ArtPrize of Grand Rapids, Michigan - a great event.
