Deciding to shoot a maternity editorial has its own set of excitements. There's a sense of newness, since our subjects have never before modeled; there's an intimacy, because this isn't a show -- they're really going to have a baby soon, and they have a natural tenderness toward the shots; and then there's the telling of the story: there are now two, at least visibly in the photographs, but there's a third person in there who is just as loved as anyone visible in the shots deserve to be.
