I was born in 1982 and I always loved to take photos. At an age of seven, I got my first point&shot film camera. I knew, taking pictures was expensive, so I always carefully considered whether to take a photo or leave it. Every time I gave a film away to be developed, I was so excited to see the prints, two weeks later. I still remember how fascinated I was about shots I took at night. Although it was absolutely dark when taking the picture, the very short presence of the flash light made it possible that things became visible on the print. At an age of eleven, I “bought” the old SLR from my father, a Minolta x-300s with a fix focal length 50mm f1.8. My father taught me the interaction of ASA, exposure time, and aperture and how to use the manual focus. My favorite subject to photograph was flowers. I liked the colors of them and the nice blurry bokeh. Unfortunately, only three years later my camera got stolen during a holiday trip to Italy. It took me some time to get over it, also because I did not get any replacement for my so loved SLR for the next 12 years. In 2007, I spent four month for an internship in New York City. I love the city and even more to take photos of it. My desire for better pictures emerged, so I gave myself a Canon EOS Rebel Xti (400D) for my birthday. At that time, I recovered my passion for photography. Today, I am not following a single, clear direction of photography. I like taking street photos, since taking photos of foreign people is quite exciting and it requires some guts. Furthermore, I enjoy talking architectural photos. Your subjects don’t run away so that you can carefully consider each aspect to take the perfect photo.
