In the early 1970s while in college earning an English degree I began teaching myself darkroom procedures with black-and-white film. When I turned professional as a photographer in 1975 I was determined to approach photography artistically more than strictly commercial. In the Deep South that was generally not done and I believe I was the first photographer in the region to concentrate on artistic nudes, both black-and-white and handcolored.
My photography has been exhibited in art galleries nationally and internationally. I’ve been published nationally in magazines such as Petersen’s Photographic, Popular Photography, Collector’s Photography, Photographer’s Forum, Libido, Paramour.
I still work exclusively with film doing all film processing and print making alone. I offer private commissions to women, men, couples with a Confidentiality Agreement. I also photograph models for my public exhibition work. My website contains over 700 images of models from the 1970’s to present.
