Fire On The Deira Creek.

A fire broke out on board an old transport dhow on the Deira Creek. The vessel was believed to contain barrels of oil among other goods.
Firefighters rushed to the scene to battle the flames as bystanders swarm the area to watch and take pictures and videos as the dhow is engulfed by fire. Random outbursts of small explosions were audible for some time after the blaze erupted. Gushes of wind pushed the clouds of smoke far into the afternoon, darkening the skies and sending drops of black tainted water to bystanders within the immediate area. Other vessels had cleared out and in the process were forced to leave goods by the creek to be guarded by the remaining crew members.

The dhow is a traditional sailing vessel commonly used to transport goods along the coasts of the Arabian Peninsula, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and East Africa

Guardians

Dhow traders watch over good that belong to them on the Deira creek, while a fire engulfs a nearby vessel.

Silent Awe

People from all over the Deira creek stopped in awe of the huge 2 hour firefight as the black smoke billowing from the dhow taints the afternoon sky.

I like the different compositions, but essentially most are the same picture: Crowd out of focus in foreground, burning ship in focus in the background. I would have loved to see some more variety, but definitely some good work here!
