Why the name 1bluecanoe?

I'm fortunate to live on an estuary in Puget Sound, Washington. My old blue canoe is pulled onto my oyster and clam shell-filled beach, ready for a paddle. The canoe really represents me...floating along life happily and trying to stay balanced even when life decides to blow and whip up the waters. However, when I paddle out into the Sound, a more adventurous soul also emerges and possibilities seem endless. Being in the here and now - listening, looking, observing, smelling; blending into the estuary so we are all one and the same. Great blue herons, noisy kingfishers, deer, otter, seals, raccoons, eagles, osprey...whatever comes into the estuary is part of the moment. Many times I drift when shooting images following the currents under my hull and within my soul. We are one and the same. If I can master my old canoe, I can master myself! A happy place both real and metaphorically.
