I am a retired engineer of the glass. I spent my entire working life in a big italian glass group . I directed, for several years, the manufacturing sector in a plant of the group.
I think the passion for photography accompany me from always. My first camera was a Canon AE1 with which I shot mostly with black and white film. This allowed me to develop personally my negatives and print my photographs.
I believe that the experience of seeing the image appear in the developing bath is one of the greatest emotions that you can try.
After many years of pause, absorbed by the demands of work and family, with the retirement, I had again the time to dedicate to my passion. I have to say what a great influence in this decision was determined by admiration for the work of the great photographers of our time like Steve McCurry, JC Richardson for landscape and portrait and Gianni Berengo Gardin, Leonardo Scianna, Eugene Smith for the photo reportage.
The advent of digital technology has given a great impetus to the art of photography, increasing the fascination with the ability to "develop" the pictures. This, in my opinion, provides the tools to give to our work a more decisive personal stamp.
In a nutshell, I think that photography, rather than an art form, is a way of living and interpreting the world around us.
I thank anyone who decides to take the time to look at my work and especially those who decide to give me an opinion or advice.
Regards to all friends of 500px.
