Alessandro Castiglioni

Alessandro Castiglioni was born in Magenta, Milan, Italy, in 1973, he graduates in Design, in the faculty of Architecture at Politecnico University of Milan. His final thesis concerned the famous Turkish baths, titled Hammam, the steam cradle, the power of colors. To deepen his researches and get more into arab culture, he travelled through Egypt, Syria, Morocco, Mali, Jordan, Turkey, releasing several photographic reports. Admitted to Italian Journalists Association, he has worked on social, ethnical and landscape reports all along Europe, Africa, Asia, Middle East and Latin America. He worked as a sport photograpehr covering Champions League and Ialian Foottball Serie A. He has exposed his own shot collections in several times and published reports for Italian and foreing magazine. He took part in the “Ural 2002” expedition (via land, from Italy, through Austria, Poland, Belarus and Russia, to the remote Siberian villages), he crossed Latin America from west to east (through Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Brasil), he sailed through the Ocean Pacific on a sailing boat, taking submarine shots in the Golden Triangle (Coco, Malpelo and Galapagos Islands). Today his work is focused on food and wine shooting. He covers the most important events on the Italian territory and supports tourist bureau and business company in the advertising of their products. He is a freelance photographer currently based in Italy. Specialising in social documentary, travel and editorial photography. A vision of his own way of shooting.
