Amy Lynne Watson

Amy Lynne Watson has been playing with photography since early childhood, but is only recently finally comfortable calling herself a "photographer". She started learning from her Pop on an old Minolta, then a Canon AE-1. Unfortunately, she did not take either of these with her when she went around the world on Semester at Sea in 1993-- but she did take a decent point and shoot and fell in love with travel photography. After returning and saving up some cash waiting tables, she bought her first SLR in 1995, a Canon Rebel XS, and took off to be a free-spirited gypsy for a couple of years. She decided to become a chiropractor, fell in love, finished her schooling, and became a mother. One of the last gifts she received from her Pop before his passing in 2006 was her beloved Canon EOS 20D-- and while she may upgrade someday, that camera is one of her most prized possessions.

Amy is now the mother of three young children, as well as a chiropractor and craniosacral therapist who focuses on treating pregnant and postpartum women, babies, and children. She feels incredibly blessed to have found a vocational path with heart. She also loves attending births as a chiropractic doula/photographer. While most of her photographs in the past decade have chronicled her family life, she occasionally sneaks away with her 20D to photograph cityscapes in Portland, or landscapes at the Oregon Coast. She dreams of the day when she can more fully indulge her wanderlust with her camera in hand and her husband and children by her side.
