I'm 27 years old and live in South Yorkshire, England (whoop whoop). Like most Yorkshire people i am very chatty, terrible at english as we miss half the words out of sentences when we speak, so if they are grammer freaks out there i apologise now!
I see myself as a keen hobbyist i love all kinds of art, tons and tons of things inspire me and get my juices flowing way too much to list on here. I do have a interest in Urban side of things and Nature. I tend to find my self asking the question 'why' to things a lot. i don't think been inquisitive is a bad thing but gets annoying when your stuck there pondering trying to figure something out and its reason or purpose.
I studied art at college and have a BTEC diploma in Art/Design Crafts. I don't know were it will take me or where i want to go with it. it does frustrate me at times as i would love to know my carrer path or what i want to do in life but i end up going with the flow and seeing where imy journey takes me.
I am new to photography I ignored it at college as it was film photography and i couldn't be bothered with all the faffing' around with putting film into the camera in a dark pitch black room then messing around with the exposure tools and stop baths etc. Don't get me wrong it was fun but not for me back then.
I recently purchased a canon 60D DSLR december 2011 (all the Nikon users sigh here lol) and since then i have loved it.
its Instant and can do so much with them no more messing around to a certain degree anyway.
As time goes by i am increasingly liking it more and more so lets see where it takes me and how it develops :)
I have noticed my 'style' if you want to call it that, is i prefer the reportage approach to taking photos. To me there's nothing nicer than getting that natural shot of something from just been in the right place in the right time etc. I do like the 'staged' stuff as well and appreciate the hard work involved in that type of photography but i have the soft spot for getting 'that shot'. Them shots were you look at it and think "i wish i took that" or you can sense the mood, emotion, atmosphere in the image. Obtaining a emotional response from a photo can be a hard thing as its different to that emotional response you get from viewing say a painting from Lucian freud, F.Bacon,Picasso etc - this is something i am again still learning.
I do at sometime intend to get back into more Art work as well, doing paintings again but at the moment I'm struggling with the motivation for that as my mind it on photography and my work life which keeps changing at an incredible pace at the mo'. (advice to you out there don't get into telecommunication business if your easily stressed lol)
But yeh, Thank you ever so much for checking me out and it is very humbling some of the comments people have left already i am new to 500px but i must say i am already enjoying it. Take care of ya self and thanks for your time !
