Istanbul

Published April 1st, 2012

I went to Istanbul, Turkey for a conference and had a couple of free hours where I explored the Blue mosque, a spice market and the Grand Bazaar. A city of contrasts with both modern, historical and cultural rich environments.

Spice market

A very jovial gentleman in a spice market in Istanbul

Egyptian spice market

This market was really an explosion of color. In fact it was intense for all the senses as the merchants was shouting, people in motion, deals being made and a plethora of scents.

Lantern

Found these great lanterns in the Grand Bazaar. Used my 35mm 1.8 for a real depth in the picture. I really love the colors.
