Born and brought up in rural North Northumberland, Andy has always been close to nature. Having been raised on or near farms and with many members of his family employed in the agricultural industry a career in a land based industry was inevitable. With an early interest in growing and exhibiting plants, horticulture was his chosen career path, he studied Glasshouse crops production at Hertfordshire College of Agriculture and Horticulture (Oaklands) in St.Albans, where he met his wife, Sylvia. After college Sylvia was the first to be offered a job, this took them to Aberdeenshire, where they both fell in love with this part of the world. After 10 years Andy became ill with fibromyalgia and began painting as a therapeutic past-time, because he was painting from pictures he started taking photographs to paint from. More and more it was the photography that held his interest, then in 2008 he got a Canon DSLR since then he has spent as much time as his health would allow taking images and developing as a photographer. Andy is self taught photographer and enjoys taking full advantage of what nature has to offer in rural Aberdeenshire and beyond, whether for landscapes, flora and fauna or as a back drop for portraits or portfolio work with local models. Because he is self taught he is prepared to try any genre of photography at least once, as long as he is not limited by his health problems. He works primarily within the Aberdeenshie and Moray area, also visiting North Northumberland. He is currently offering a variety of photography services: • Portrait, Individual, Couples and Family either on location or in studio (Elgin) • Pet Portraits • Commercial and Product • Events • Landscape • Wildlife • Special Occasions (Birthday, Engagement, Graduation, Personal Celebration) • Portfolio building Please get in touch if you would like to use his services.
