Animals have always been a constant in my life. I was raised in Southern Louisiana, with your typical pets but we also had farm animals, horses and I also kept reptiles for quite sometime. I have respect for and experience with a variety of animals of all sizes.
In 2008 I started my photography business in Central Illinois taking portraits of people, weddings and working with rescue groups. After 3 years I realized I wanted to focus on pet photography. I am a firm believer that to be a good pet photographer you must respect your subjects and take the time to understand their needs and their behavior.
I am a member of Professional Photographers of America and I enjoy entering images into print competitions. In 2016, I was awarded platinum photographer at International Photographic Competition. At North Central districts all 4 of my images merited, with one being recognized as 1st Place in Animal Portraits. My Case also made it into the Top Ten Cases in North Central Districts. At IPC in 2017, I received a Bronze medal.
I have been featured in the Petco Foundation calendar in 2013 and 2014. The Daily Dog Tag has featured my Sighthound Project to help me get the word out. In 2016, I was published in Harpers Bazars- Town & Country (UK) Winter 2016 issue. The image selected was one from my ongoing Sighthound Project.
