The common man and his dying traditions and living style in the fast changing world. My photography can be seen here Peripheral parts included wine making in Goa where the first of the wines will be launched in 2011. And lastly cheese and the making of it is a current passion. Making of Jaggery also known as Gur in India

This is a photo essay on making of Gur, unrefined sugar made from sugar cane juice.

All stories must have a beginning.

The story of Chuttmalpur gur making which I took up from the middle in an earlier photograph showcasing a worker spooning a golden trickle of boiling sugar cane juice needs a wider look at the setting of the place and the relative dimensions of the scenario. So here is this, a first look at the setting of the small unit on a grey blue day of hazy proportions. As you approach the place this is what you see.
