I took this on the first morning of my honeymoon, my wife and I walked the whole of the crest of this beautiful ridge! It's a very well worn route and popular amongst those who frequent the Lake District in the north of the UK. Needless to say it rained, sodden and in need of some hearty grub we both retired for the night to a well known eatery. The Dog and Gun.

The Annie Mellor

On a cold morning in the Lake District I walked along the side of Derwent Water. The sun had not yet risen fully, a mist was settled on the Lake. Slowly the mist did lift, but the trees grabbed on to the last of it. Time disappeared for a while, the stresses of life were non existent. Birds were chirping, the boat keeper was getting ready for a slow day of business, those couples who dare venture out for a cold autumn row were tucking into their warm breakfast.

I find when my mind is in this place and space, it is free to be creative. I ponder on how employers around the world strive for creativity, yet never encompass the conditions required to allow it to grow and be cultivated. I lifted my camera, as I did so Annie Mellor was staring back at me.
