It was 2008 and I was really excited to own my first "serious" DSLR, a Nikon D90, so I went out to take some pictures of my beloved city of Madrid. I always try to keep my eyes wide open and at some point someone grabbed my attention. It was Christmas time and there he was, a lonely serious man, dressed as a clown begging for some food at the entrance of a famous department store. A brutal contrast.
I wanted to take a portrait of him but I was a bit nervous. After thinking about it for a while I approached him and asked if I could take a picture. Surprisingly he accepted, and in a very friendly way asked me how was he supposed to pose. I took some shots, and without much more conversation I left.
