I was born and raised in Rome, Italy and moved to the other side of the world, Santa Cruz, California, several years ago. I have a PhD in Developmental Biology, and much of my research work makes use of microscopy techniques, resulting in stunning digital images of cells and chromosomes.
The focus on beautiful images in my professional work is complemented by a passion for photography. I was given my first camera, a Kodak Instamatic 28, when I was seven years old, and have been taking pictures of the world that surrounds me ever since. I love to capture the interplay between color and light, the beauty of the natural world, the essence and emotion of the people that pose for me.
