This was my first step taken into concert photography. It was a big event in a big venue. MakSim is a well known Russian popstar. Her main audience is in the teenager age-group but there were many adults there, and not only accompanying their kids.
For some strange reason the "pit" was almost empty and we were not allowed there. All photographers were located pretty far from the stage, so it was nearly impossible to capture some close ups with just a 70-200 and a full frame camera. I would have fared better with my long gone D300. Nevertheless it was a very satisfying experience, and it taught me a lot about the metering of my camera and the autofocus performance. I was allowed to take pictures during the whole show, so there was no stress and no pressure if results didn't show up during the first 3 songs.
All in all a remarkable experience that I am dying to repeat.
