I am a London based part-time photographer born and raised in Berlin. I started photographing at the age of twelve documenting political protest and moved on to digital photography ten years ago. I’m mainly interested in travel and street photography and there is a documenting element to my work, however I became more focused on the human figure in recent years. I have a weakness for derelict and disused objects, patina and everything that once was.

I look at themes like isolation, non-natural environments and its impact on people however some of my work has also a funny side to it. I often use kitsch and clichés in an attempt to fathom the nature of my subjects. What I try to capture is a moment of intimacy, where the subject is off-guard and not posing. I am interested in the instant reaction to the surrounding and grasping the moment. Emotions come to light all of a sudden and when I am there with my camera it is the point in time I need to catch. A second later life has moved on and it’s a different story. I’m not looking for the technically perfect photo but work with light and blur. What I see is a frame as a cut-out of reality and I want the observer to feel what I felt when I took the photo. My photography is telling a story within one image.
