Benoît Fautsch

Starting film photography as a kid, first with a vintage 76 Konica C35, then with a Rollei SL35, I made my way towards things more electronic, though still film based, with a Minolta Dynax 505si in the late 90's. I guess my preference for ISO 400 films sealed my taste for photos of the grainy kind...

From those "low budget student" days I retained the fear of wasting a shot, the latter having only slightly decreased when I started digital photography in 2007. Still I enjoy switching betweeen digital and analogue equipment and experimenting new creative possibilities. Encouraged by promising attempts in home processing of B/W film and by extremely low second hand equipment prices, I started a project consisting in bringing old TLR and folding cameras from the 1940's onwards back to life and photographing contemporary scenes.
