Yousif ALHarmoudi

The reason that I chose the name Bin Amin is mainly due to the person who greatly impacted my life and encouraged me to depend on myself especially in the field of photography; my Father Amin Mohamed AlHarmoudi. It gives me great pride in placing his name as my signature in all of my pieces of art.
Self-image photography was the beginning where my eyes see things that the camera lens translates into a beautiful picture. I see things around me in silence and absorb the smallest details. I became passionate about photography without any external influence. I remember the best advice given to me by my father was: "Until you know things around you; read. Read every piece of paper even if it does not interest you", which encouraged me to read books by prominent photographers like The Mind's Eye: Writings on Photography and Photographers by Henri Cartier-Bresson, Enrique Salmon, and Alfred Eisenstaedt.
The various photographs of famous photographers remain in my mind where every detail is studied; the scene within the picture speaks for itself therefore I fell in love with photography and learned the rules.
I explored my first camera when I was at the age of 12 where I spent most of my time exploring the different ways of taking photographs. With time, and after many burnt photographs later, I learned many secrets of photography
Throughout my line of work in this field I did not get moral or financial support, rather I have maintained loyal to capturing images for myself. In 2001 I had the opportunity to further develop my skills by seeking to obtain an education in media where I learned most aspects of photography. I learned to mix techniques like combining cinematography with photography by studying various disciplines of photography.
"Convey silently, work silently, leave silently, and stand out strongly"; this is what I believe in.
Meanwhile, I found myself archiving large amount of pictures without enough courage to reveal them to the public; especially to those around me. I would constantly compare myself to famous photographers attempting to imitate them until one of my photographs was featured on the website reserved for professional photographers.
